ABOUT THE MINISTRY

Children exist to be loved and to have fun. This is what The Little Hands Ministry believes. It is an outreach to urban poor street children and adolescents that started in Tapas Restaurant, Pasong Tamo, Makati City in 2009. A month after the pioneers Kitchie Nadal, Roca Cruz, Richel Halili started it, this organization is continued by a group of professionals, now growing in number. It now holds weekly activities at the REMIT CARD office in Pasong Tamo, Makati City, Philippines, a venue sponsored by the family of Lisa Camara - one of the people in Little Hands.

Following the call of Jesus when he said "Let the little children come to me...", the objective of Little Hands is to enable children of informal settlers to have Christian experiences in their lives and to have meaningful and enjoyable childhood. On Tuesday nights, the group serves the kids the Word from the Bible. It goes on to giving them delicious, nutritious food. Other days, Little Hands encourages them to have recreation by introducing sports activities like table tennins and swimming, helping them see where their interests fit in culturally in the metropolis (field trips to art exbibits), and celebrating birthdays by having a blowing-of-the-cake, or surprise gifts from their wish-list, and an extra special dinner treat.

The Ministry also extends the assistance to the kids' parents by linking them to Jeepney Magazine, which provides

jobs that yield above minimum wage. On occassion, there is also a call to help out medically to a family or one of it's members. Little Hands has helped a malnourished child get into better nutrition by assisting the parent in seeing doctors and getting the right medicine. Little Hands Ministry is fun, the teachers and kids come in all shapes, race and sizes. Drop by soon, we know you can do a lot! God bless!

It was Paula's and Rommel's birthday celebration. Pau is a sweet and pretty 12 year old, while Rommel is a cute youngster himself who prays with his eyes closed no matter how rowdy everybody gets, today was blessed with fruits, juice, palabok and choc cake dessert!...

PLANS TO COME

We plan to visit Malvar hospital on Sept. 26, kids' and mom's sign up will be next tuesday: Sept. 21. AK has also asked Pastor Matt Owen of UCM as to whom she should approach regarding private scholarships. We DO NEED MED-REPS AND DOCTORS to be in our email list so that we can inform you of the medicine that they are prescribed. WHO SUPPORTS US?
Family, our work, and friends. We have learned that the Lord provides gallantly for His work. We are in the works of creating a fun bike trek to raise money for buying bikes for the kids-and for some medical expenses. Also a kid-handcrafted t-shirt merchandise project is in the planning process. Be part of any or both!
